New Pastor Appointed to begin
July 1…
On Wednesday evening, April 30, our Staff-Parish Committee met with
Superintendent Dean Ziegler, who introduced Grace’s new pastor: the
Rev. Justin Judy. Visiting with Justin was his wife: Stephanie, and
two boys – Elijah, 3 years old and Jonathan, 18 months old. It was
a grand welcoming night!
Justin was born July 5, 1979, probably in
McKeesport where his father was employed in a steel mill. His
father, Bruce, answered a call to ministry in 1993 and was attending
Waynesburg College when Pastor Glenn was appointed to Waynesburg:
First Church in 1994. Pastor Glenn served as Bruce's pastoral
mentor. Justin's mother, Bonnie, was the secretary at First Church,
Justin was about 15 years old.
He graduated from West Greene High
School, and was attending West Virginia Wesleyan College when Pastor
Glenn became a superintendent in 1999. He graduated from California
State University, and is graduating Pittsburgh Theological Seminary
this May.
Justin was hired by the district
superintendent as a student pastor and served the Fordyce and Mt.
Pleasant Churches in Greene County from July 2002 through August
2003. He was then appointed to the Timblin Charge: three churches:
Salem, Porter, and Timblin in August 2003. He has been pastor there
the last five years, while a student at seminary.
